Few words about politics or something I never wrote before
People who know me personally or read my articles and blog have definitely noticed that if I write about politics then it is mostly macroeconomics analysis. I am not getting involved in personalia or discuss parties and politicians. But in this particular case I want and have to make an exemption. Here we go with the story:
I do know Steve Pound, MP of Ealing, for quite a few years know. Well, “know” is a bit of a strong word, but we say hello to each other and I always had impression of Steve being very open and friendly person. As many of my readers know, I am travelling at the moment and not making regular posts to my blog. While abroad I needed to find an answer to a simple question (the subject is not really important) but no website carried any information on this matter. I don’t know how it happened but I decided to write to Steve asking for information. Next day I’ve received a full answer but that wasn’t all, Steve personally visited the place (!!!) to get me most up-to-date and firsthand info. To say that I was impressed is to say nothing. Altogether I’ve received about five e-mails from Steve Pound and his assistants within just one day.
You know, people, I wouldn’t be much surprised even if I would have received a polite response, like “sorry, but I can not answer your question”, because it was really something outside the usual responsibilities of any MP. I’ve seen people walking that extra mile to help but in my case it was more than a mile. I am not into politics or parties but I do know that if at the next elections Steve Pound decides to stand in our constituency, then my vote and vote from my wife are already reserved for him. And our votes are going to be both for a politician and for a person that we do respect.
P.S. This post is not in any sense endorsed by Mr. Steve Pound, MP but I really wanted my readers to know this story.
